What chromosome is affected?
Turner syndrome affects the X chromosome. One of the two X chromosomes is either missing or structurally altered. It affects the SHOX gene.
Symptoms
Other than the three on the front page some symptoms that may come with Turner syndrome are: puffiness or swelling of hands and feet, skeletal abnormalities, kidney problems, short stature, and being unable to conceive a child.
Treatments
Some treatments for Turner syndrome are: seeing a pediatric endocrinologist for child hormone and metabolism conditions, growth hormone injections, and if above the be of 12 estrogen replacement therapy.
